Immersive performances invite audiences to inhabit the world of the story. Since 2015, I have specialized in this audience-centric theatrical form, tackling questions of identity, relationships, and interconnectedness.

A self-guided audiowalk exploring the audience’s relationship to a changing climate. Broadcasting live over FM radio, writer/performer Monica Miklas shares her stories and prose poetry as the audience explores a real wildfire burn site. Described as “decidedly timely, reflective of an era when the loss of life can feel overwhelming to the point of paralyzing” (LA Times).

Brassroots District: Live in the Lot Summer ‘73 is an immersive music experience that transports audiences to the heyday of LA’s legendary funk music scene. While a bangin’ 9-piece funk band plays a full concert live onstage, a story unfolds throughout the venue, pulling audience members to the very center of the action.
